The Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association is a firm so well known, not alone on this Continent, but throughout the civilized world, that it seems unnecessary to call special attention to the same just now.

But there is a new generation growing up. It may interest many of the younger element to ponder over specific facts well known to everyone, careful as to use pure food, whether in liquid or solid form.

It may be appropriate to state here that the products of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association have always been pure. Had it been otherwise, they would not have received and retained the worldwide popularity they enjoy today. Our patrons would have restricted their consumption.

The Anheuser-Busch Brewery—the largest Brewery in America, was founded in 1857 by the late Eberhard Anheuser, who associated with him in 1865, Mr. Adolphus Busch. Upon the death of Mr. Anheuser in 18S0, Mr. Busch succeeded in the association's presidency and general management of the business.

Under the personal supervision of Mr. Busch, the association made gigantic strides, adding new buildings in the years 1876, 1878, 1882, 1885, 1889, 1893, and 1897. Today, the Anheuser-Busch Brewery covers a total area of over fifty city blocks.

It is a city in itself, a mammoth establishment, the splendid appliances of which, wholly in keeping with the most advanced modern progress, make it the model institution of the world's brewing industry.

Not How Cheap, But How Good is the motto of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association, consequently the fame and popularity of its brands, such as the "Budweiser," "Michelob," "Muenchener," "Faust," "AnheuserStandard " and "Pale Lager" have become known worldwide.

These brands of beer are served on all Pullman dining and buffet cars, Wagner dining and buffet cars, ocean and lake steamers, and in all first-class hotels, prominent clubs, the best families, and are carried on nearly every man-of-war and cruiser and served at most of the United States Army Posts and Soldiers' Homes.

The above brands command the highest prices because of their absolute purity, the use of the best material, and full maturity before being placed on the market.

The Anheuser-Busch Brewery has an actual brewing capacity of 2,000,000 barrels per year. The output in 1880 was 175,181 barrels and 11,456,200 bottles, and that in 1897 was 765,520 barrels and 31,056,200 bottles.

While the consumption of beer for the last six months in 1898 throughout the United States has been about 2% million barrels less than the preceding year, yet, this establishment has shown a gain for the year 1898 of over 46,000 barrels, which is conclusive evidence that the general public has appreciated the superior quality of these beers.

Budweiser beer, the product of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Ass'n, has made familiar to all nations the name of the city in which it is prepared and given St. Louis, the reputation of being not only the greatest beer brewing city of the world but the city wherein are produced the finest beers.

The Anheuser-Busch Brewing Ass'n is the original producer of "Budweiser." The remarkable qualities of "Budweiser" that distinguish it as superior to every other brand are its bright golden color, sharp, refreshing vinous taste, and mild pitchy bouquet.

It contributes, through eye and palate, to human enjoyment and, on account of its hygienic properties, is accepted by the medical authorities as an invigorator. "Budweiser" is acknowledged as the "King of Bottled Beers," its title originating in recognition of its worth by an appreciative public.

The famous " Budweiser" offers great temptations for imitators. Still, none have yet been able to attain the quality of a genuine article. The natural local influences are appertaining to the institution's situation in which it is prepared, which cannot be transferred to other places, using carefully selected barley. Of the finest Saaz hops, the closest attention to the firmly established principles and the most approved methods of manipulation are the factors that have combined to make the original " Budweiser" and all its other brands the best-brewed products.

In the United States, Central and South America, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Japan, the Hawaiian Islands, and European centers, one might almost say throughout the entire civilized world that the original " Budweiser" is sold, and its high qualities are approved. Hence dealers and consumers are cautioned against imitations. Other breweries sometimes offer a decoction that they designate as " Budweiser Beer" to deceive the public and injure its reputation.

The fact that the original ''Budweiser" has never been excelled, nor equaled, is positive evidence that the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Ass'n can only produce it.

A further indication of the high quality of " Budweiser " is that on January 11, 1898, we filled the five hundred millionth bottle. Five hundred million bottles of a single brand is a record reached by no other global brewery. Such figures are an all-sufficient vote of confidence by the people.

This brewery also prepares the celebrated Malt-Nutrine, which since 1895 has so progressed in popular favor that it is now found on sale in every drug store in the United States and, the fame of the extract having gone beyond the sea, branches of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Ass'n have been established in Paris and London to simplify the gratification of a rapidly growing demand for the article in France, Great Britain, and all the European countries.

Malt-Nutrine is the standard by which all other malt extracts are tested. Its perfection for its purposes is unique and unattainable. This preparation contains less than two percent alcohol, and its exquisite proportion of nutritious solids makes it a true tonic and restorative, the effects of which are not spasmodic and brief but permanently strengthening.

Malt-Nutrine is especially beneficial to nursing mothers and children. In cases of debility and exhaustion, wasted nervous energy, brain-fag, indigestion, weakness of the stomach, and kindred troubles, Malt-Nutrine is unequaled as a recuperative agent, with none of the false and dangerous strength of preparations which owe their quick result to drugs.
