Tours in Europe and Through Fares.

The Cunard Company will have pleasure in arranging any Tours or Journeys that may be contemplated. Enquiries for information concerning such are welcomed, and will be answered promptly. Through tickets will be supplied for journeys to any of the principal cities of Europe at the same rates as sold on that side, and routes planned out so that itinerary will be known before departure. See fares on pages 24 to 27.

Particular attention is drawn to the delightful tours at small expense which can be made by use of the Liverpool and Mediterranean Services, embracing Ireland, Great Britain. France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland. Austria-Hungary, Italy, Sicily and Spain. Stopovers permitted at all Mediterranean ports of call without extra charge. Eastward voyage can be made to British ports or the Mediterranean as preferred. Send for Booklet "Cunard Tours Europe," and Tourist Map.

 

Travellers Cheques.

For the convenience of its Patrons the Cunard Company now issues CHEQUES of $10.00, $20.00, $50.00 and $100.00, with Foreign money equivalents, at which they will be cashed by its Agents and Correspondents throughout the world, distinctly printed thereon; thus providing not only the safest and most economical means of taking funds abroad, with an absolute certainty as to value, but also a simple and effective means of identification in case of need.

Full information regarding these Cheques will be given on application to any of the Company's principal Agencies throughout the United States and Canada.

 

Baggage Insurance.

Passengers are recommended to insure their baggage as in the event of loss or damage, the Company cannot accept liability beyond the limit specified on the steamer contract ticket. Arrangements have been made by the Company so that passengers can insure their baggage against all the risks of transportation by sea or land at favorable rates and conditions.

The liability of Shipowners is restricted by passage tickets to $100 for First Class Passengers and $50 for Second and Third Class. Rates and full particulars on application.

The following tour is very attractive, and can be extended to include any part of Europe desired. The rates charged are moderate. They include all rail and steamer accommodation but not meals on trains. The amount included for accommodation on the North Atlantic steamer is $100.

The Pacific Steamship Lines, viz. Pacific Mall. Toyo Kisen Kaisha. and Canadian Pacific, running Mall and Intermediate vessels charge a supplement of $31.65 for the former ships. The rates quoted hereafter are based on passage In the Intermediate vessels. If passage in the Mail steamers is desired the extra charge must be paid.

When passengers prefer to travel between London and the Mediterranean ports of Gibraltar, Marseilles, Toulon, Brindisi, Genoa or Naples, at their own expense instead of making the journey by steamer, an allowance of $19.45 will be made from the cost of the tours except tours 1, 2, 4, 5, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 22. In the same way an allowance of $38.90 will be made for passengers travelling between London and Port Said on their own account.

  • Tickets are good for two years.
  • Stopovers can be obtained at all places of interest as desired within the validity of the tickets
  • Tours can be commenced at nearly any point and at any time, and generally either outbound or westbound.
  • The amount of $100 is included in the price of tour for Atlantic passage. If berths at this price are not obtainable an excess charge must be paid by the passenger.
