Built by Caird & Co., Greenock, Scotland. Tonnage: 2,555. Dimensions: 311' x 39'. Single-screw, 12 knots. Inverted engines. Two masts and one funnel. Iron hull. Launched: August 11, 1870. Maiden voyage: Bremen-Southampton- New Orleans, April 1, 1871. Other Service: Also was used in service to New York. Modifications: Compound engines in 1884. Fate: Scrapped in 1896.

 

Köln (1899) North German Lloyd

Built by J. C. Tecklenborg, Geestemunde, Germany. Tonnage: 7,409. Dimensions: 428' x 54'. Twin-screw, 12 1/2 knots. Triple expansion engines Two masts and one funnel. Service: Mainly in the Baltimore and Gulf services. Renamed: Amphion (1917) United States Government. Sister ships: Frankfurt and Hannover. Fate: Sold for scrap, 1924

Built by Bremer Vulkan, Vegesack, Germany. Tonnage: 9,264. Dimensions: 474' x 60'. Single-screw, 12 1/2 knots. Triple expansion engines. Four masts and one funnel. Service: In South American service. Modifications: Coverted to Cargo Ship in 1934. Fate: Wrecked near Swedish coast in 1940.
