Ranger 22 Yacht: The Racing Machine Returns (1977)

The new Ranger 22 is a brutally single-minded boat: She's built to race. Everything on board is there to make her fast -- or we wouldn't have it on the boat.

The Ranger 28: Most advanced production cruiser-racer we've ever built (1977)

We asked designer Gary Mull to make her a competition sailboat with the creature comforts of a cruising boat below. We built her with the polish and the strength of a custom yacht.

The new Ranger 30: a practical cruiser precisely because she's a spirited racer (1978)

The Ranger 30 is a boat a family can crew. A simple boat, easy to handle in a race. A quick, responsive boat, one you can trust in narrow channels or in rolling offshore swells.

A Special Class of Ranger Yachts

A total of 92 Ranger Specials are being built. No more. No less. Twenty-eight Ranger 23's. Twenty-eight Ranger 26's. Twenty-four Ranger 29's. Twelve Ranger 33's. The Ranger Specials are being offered to racing sailors throughout the country this fall.

The Ranger Specials are factory-prepared and specially equipped for serious racing.

The Ranger Specials are identified by their distinctive red hulls. They're equipped with pulpits, stanchions and lifelines. They feature a powerful Lewmar racing winch package — including extras such as oversize two-speed aluminum sheet winches.

They come complete with the Gary Mull Racing Package — including such things as spinnaker gear, staysail gear, backstay adjusters and ball bearing travelers.

They will be commissioned by the dealer and stored until spring, if you wish, at no extra cost. The Ranger Specials feature one hell of a lot of special racing gear. Most everything you need for serious campaigning.

This spring the 92 red-hulled Ranger Specials will take to the water. You can't beat them. If you're going to join them, you have to act now. Because the limited edition Ranger Factory Racing Specials will go very fast. In more ways than one.
