More About the SS Colombo

THE SS COLOMBO of the Italian Line (NGI) is one of the modern and most comfortable ships plying between Italy and North America.

Her unusual features have won her in a very short time and undisputed popularity among the American and Italo-American traveling public.

She is not only a fast oil burner, making the trip between New York and Naples in less than 10 days, but she is constructed to ensure special steadiness and equilibrium even in heavy seas.

The outstanding feature of the ship, however, is perhaps the artistic Italian touch, which one seems to sense but not define as soon as one steps on board and lends beauty and grace to the exquisite comfort and luxury that surrounds you everywhere.

The Single Class of the COLOMBO accommodates 445 passengers. It is situated amidships and has at its disposal large and elegant Social Rooms. The staterooms with one, two, or four beds are supplied with running water and all the comforts required of a Bedroom.

The Third Class improved closed cabin, with accommodations for 372 passengers, divided into large rooms for four and six persons, its floors covered with litosilo, is also supplied with wash basins and running water. The rooms are very well ventilated, either naturally or artificially.

The Comfortable and Attractive COLOMBO

The Colombo is the largest cabin class steamer in the Mediterranean, and no ship has done more to popularize cabin class ships than the Colombo. She is still the favorite of those to whom comfort comes next to safety, equipped to render both to the very limit of modern maritime progress.

Passengers who make the trip for the delights of the sea, rather than for the glamor of the salon, for the tonic of the air, rather than for the charm of the ballroom, for all of the health-giving qualities that rejuvenate the passenger upon the sea and prolong his life—all of these the Colombo affords to those who take life more sedately, who love quiet refinement and the homelike qualities that so add to the enjoyment of a trip upon the sea.

There are many who make their reservations for the Colombo, whom it would be difficult to accommodate to their taste on the somewhat grander scale preferred by the ultra-elite.
