1898 Vintage Menus Archival Collection

Vintage Menus for 1898 in the GG Archives collection represent the souvenir breakfast, luncheon, dinner, daily, private party, special occasion, and specialty menus provided to the passengers during their voyage.

Many of these souvenir menus have disappeared over the years. Our collection contains a sampling of menus initially produced and printed by the steamship lines.

They are often used to illustrate family history books for immigrants from this time. The menus are organized in date order.

1898-02 Vintage Wine, Liquors, and Tobacco Menu Card

Vintage Wine List Bill of Fare Card from the Cunard Line included other items such as liquor, beverages and tobacco. Printed on the reverse side of an 1898 Bill of Fare card.

1898-09-10 RMS Campania Breakfast Menu Card with Liquor List

Nineteenth Century Bill of Fare Card with a Liquor by the Drink List on the reverse side, served on board the RMS Campania of the Cunard Line. Breakfast Bill of Fare featured Fried Plaice, Broiled Finnan Haddin and Smoked Wiltshire Bacon.
