Approximately 100,000 people paid one shilling (5p) each for a ticket for a ringside view to the Titanic Launch.

In 1994, Ships Monthly reported that one of the rarest items in the sale was an admission ticket to the launch of Titanic on 31st May 1911 which sold for £1.760. It was only the second such ticket seen at auction, the last one having sold in the same rooms in 1987 for £1,210.

Reproduction quality of this item was deminished by the attempt to age the document through discoloration.
