Best Cruise Lines to Experience a Voyage like your Ancestors

One recurring question we receive is do we have any recommendations for taking a cruise on a modern cruise line that can help them experience some of the things that their ancestors encountered.

The modern Cruise ships of today offer comforts and conveniences that most immigrants from the 1800s through 1954 would probably have not encountered. So for accommodations, the closest thing we could come up with was a cargo ship that offered limited services for a few passengers.

We do believe that taking a cruise, especially a transatlantic cruise, will give you some sense as to the motion encountered, rough weather and the effect on the ship, and being confined to a relatively small area for a six or seven day period.

If any of our patrons have taken a cruise they would recommend to other genealogists, we will be happy to post your evaluations.
